Ever wonder what to do with all those lovely vintage linens you’ve been saving? How about turning those handkerchiefs into dresses, and frame the belle with doilies and lace trims? Or if you just love the pattern, we put together some kits for your own dress-making: they include a vintage handkerchief, coordinating background fat-quarter, and tricot fusible interfacing. The handkerchief should be sufficient to create the bodice and bonnet, but you can always add your own coordinating fabrics for accent, if you wish. Please note that the model is an example only.
You also have the option to add a coordinating set of three skeins of hand-dyed Weeks DyeWorks 6-stranded floss to complete the embroidery, specially selected to enhance each hankie.
NOTE: These are vintage handkerchiefs and potentially could show some signs of their age. We try to only use those that we feel can produce a lovely belle.
Finished belle (without lace trim) is approximately 8 inches by 11 inches.
